Following a night and morning of group discussions, we have reaffirmed our commitment to continue our journey, but to make today an impromptu day to refresh and reenergize. The decision was challenging, as feelings of vulnerability could easily overshadow reason. Steve S’s urgings also helped.

We visited Steve S. in the hospital and were relieved to find him looking remarkably well, considering the severity of his collision. His wife, Kelly, has arrived and is providing excellent care.

On the positive side, we are happy to welcome back Matt, who has rejoined the group after a few days away. Conversely, we bid farewell to Dan, a generous volunteer whose enthusiasm and effort have been greatly appreciated. We certainly want to keep his kind offer of supporting future trips in mind.

We have now driven on to our next landing site and are settling in for a quieter, more subdued evening.
